Feed Rover

The Reading Rover, a cooperative project with Smart Start / Region A Partnership for Children, is a mobile unit serving preschoolers and child care providers throughout Jackson, Macon and Swain counties and the Qualla Boundary with story times, teacher workshops, teaching aids and parenting and family resources. Reading Rover was “born” in 1999, making him 56 in dog years. As many of us have discovered, upkeep and maintenance get more expensive as we get older. The same is true of Rover.

Please help us keep Rover running
like a puppy.

The Friends of the Library provided leadership and enthusiasm for the successful fundraising needed for the new Macon County Public Library. Over $1 million dollars was raised to help furnish and equip the new library, which opened April 2, 2007. Thanks to the many people who gave generously in support of the new library. Special thanks go to Past President Roberta Swank for her dedication to the fundraising campaign.
