MacKenzie Photography
Collection
A recent bequest to the Macon County Public Library came
from the estate of the late Joyce MacKenzie. MacKenzie was an accomplished
photographer and left the library a collection of nearly 4000 original photographs. The collection includes photographs of
animals and birds, architecture, flowers, nature scenes, and people. A special thanks goes to Hollis Walker for his volunteer
work to inventory and organize the collection.

Thursday Nights at the Library!

topics designed for enjoyment and education.
The programs are free and open to area residents and visitors.
No programs are scheduled at this time. Please come back here often to see about new Thursday Night offerings!
Light refreshments will be served.

Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
NOTICE -- FOL HELP WANTED!
• Chairman — Membership Committee:
This position is available starting January 1, 2009. Membership records are maintained using a “user friendly”
custom database software application which keeps track of all FOL members, generates mail merge letters, FOLIO labels,
renewal notices, membership cards and records all moneys received for new and renewal
memberships. The past membership chair has provided a User Guide to the software which outlines, step-by-step, all of the
membership chair’s tasks and how to perform them; there is currently
an assistant to the Chair in place. Some Word and Excel knowledge is helpful, but not mandatory.
• FOLIO Coordinator: FOL is looking for
someone to help coordinate the publishing of the FOLIO, the quarterly newsletter. The coordinator will need to assist the
president in the gathering of information and photos for the FOLIO, as well as writing some articles and working with the
Publicity chair in layout and editing. In addition, the coordinator will work with the
president in preparing the FOLIO for mailing. If you like to write and coordinate projects, this is the job for you.
